lets take a journey.
i applied for an internship for international justice mission in september. i later found out i wasn't accepted. this lead me to pray and search for another direction. i knew id be graduating in december and needed a "plan" per say. i knew i didn't want to go home or stay in riverside. i didn't want to be one of those graduates who can't leave the cbu nest. i didn't have any ideas. i knew i couldn't just sit around and wait for something. i wanted to move forward.
it is during this time, around thanksgiving that i decided to pursue options overseas. a good friend and i looked into teaching overseas. as we pursued this i decided i wanted to stay close to my church in norco. church fellowship is vital and i wanted to be in a place of spiritual encouragement and growth. once i made this decision i had to find a place to live and a job. within a week of graduation God provided both. it was a huge confirmation that i was in his will. he blesses those who obey him.
before these things came into place i knew i had a decision to make. i could either do things myself, take control or trust God and let him provide. i wanted my faith to grow in this way. i wanted to deepen my trust and understanding of the Lord. in times of doubt i fought constantly to restrain my desire to take control. it was these times i had to pray for faith and trust in God. i knew he would provide, i just didn't know how.
now. as i sit on the other-side of the situation i can see how clearly God took care of me. i see him working in all the decisions. in the doors that closed and in the doors that opened only to close for another one to open. he has also provided support and encouragement of friends and family.
for all of this i am grateful. i am blessed. i am in awe of our God. and i trust him even more then before. i better understand his faithfulness. this is the beginning of this new journey, but i feel confident that as long as i trust in God things will be okay.
